Every once in a while in music comes an artist that exudes absolute raw potential that’s just waiting to be cultivated into something special, our next guest is that kind of artist and it’s with great pleasure that we’re able to sit and talk about his journey, goals and ambitions within the industry and what we should expect in the near future. Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great pleasure that our very own Nkanyiso brings you this interview with our very special guest who goes by the name uSwelihle. Nkanyiso(Host): Swelihle my brother, thanks for coming through..it’s an honor. Swelihle: The honor’s all mine, thank you for having me. Nkanyiso: let’s just get straight to it bafo, Can you please just start off by telling us about your background? Who you are, where you’re from and where you grew up. Swelihle: I'm Swelihle Mteshane also known as Bho (nickname). I'm from Harding kwaMachi currently staying at Ntuzuma C section kwaMancinza. I grew up living with my Grandma along with my siblings and cousins. Nkanyiso: When did you fall in love with music and decided that this might be something you want to pursue? Swelihle: I fell in love with Music at a very young age hey, I used to listen to my dad while he was singing and when I was alone or playing by myself I would sing exactly like he was singing. So in due time I found myself invested deep within the grips of music, so much so that I eventually became a choir leader at School in grade 4....and ppl were so amazed about my voice and were always encouraging me....that's where I fell deeply in love with Music. Nkanyiso: Would you say that where you grew up had an effect on how you write, make music and your sound? Swelihle: Absolutely, because most of my music talks about how I grew up, it talks about everything that has happened to me before. Honestly speaking when I lost my parents at a young age I became a loner, I isolated myself, So whenever I was alone that's where I got to sing because of having no one to talk to. So currently whenever i'm faced with any situation I just sit down by myself and write a song about that situation in particular and in that way I get an opportunity to heal. Nkanyiso: Touching words man, Who’s your biggest inspiration when it comes to music? Swelihle: At this point my biggest inspiration when it comes to music is Sjava, his music speaks to me directly most of the time considering everything that I've been through, and through his writing I find myself relating to most of the situations he speaks about. And I’m sure the fans will pick up on that on one or two songs on the project. Nkanyiso: What’s the biggest challenge that you’ve faced so far? Swelihle: That’s a deep question hey, and honestly I don’t even know where to start. So when I started recording music, people fell in love with my style and told me to do something about it, but just because of the area I was living in at the time and having no access to anything gave me a hard time because I didn't even know where to start. Nkanyiso: That’s deep man, switching it up though what’s the best thing that’s happened for your career up to this point? Swelihle: When I relocated from Kenville to Ntuzuma I met a guy named Mduduzi Gumede aka Blaq Qwabe, that's the guy who made things happen for me because he hooked me up with the Zaythini record Label and I guess the owner of the label saw potential after recording my first single called Uthando with him and decided to sign me. So far that's the best thing that has happened so far because it feels good to have someone in your corner that knows the ins and outs about this Industry. Nkanyiso: Congratulations brother and a huge shoutout to Blaq for the assist, solid homie for real but moving on…I hear that you have a project coming out soon, is it true? And if it is then please tell us what the project is about? Swelihle: Yeah for sure, The project is coming. The project is about me introducing myself to this jungle that’s the music industry and you also get a little bit more insight of who Swelihle is and where is he coming from. Nkanyiso: Can we expect any visuals on the way? Swelihle: Absolutely, the first visual off the project is definitely coming out soon, and it’ll definitely be out on all video streaming platforms as well, the link will be shared as soon as the video drops. Be on the lookout. Nkanyiso: Major stuff my brother, once again congratulations and thank you for gracing us with your time, wishing you success and all the best in your future endeavors. Swelihle: Pleasure’s all mine man, a huge shoutout to y’all for the support and encouragement, to my supporters I just want to express my gratitude and let everybody know that the project is coming out soon. Please make sure you check it out when it drops.
